64 kg of drugs were exposed on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border, there are detainees

On the service territory of the Goytepe border detachment of the border troops of the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan, persons who tried to smuggle large quantities of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan were detained. As the State Border Service told APA, on December 24 at 23:50, the border guard noticed the movement of four unknown persons from Iran to Azerbaijan on the service territory of the border outpost near the village of Ostayir, Yardimli region. The border post was alerted, the service area was blocked off, search measures began, and law enforcement agencies were informed. One of the border violators, a resident of the village of Ostayir Rakhimov, Khalid Teyyub oglu, was detained.

During the inspection of the territory, more than 64 kg of narcotic substances (marijuana and opium), 100 psychotropic tablets “Dimenhydrinate 50 mg – Jalinous” were discovered and seized. The identities of other members of the criminal group were established and on December 25 at 00:35 residents of the Yardimli district were detained – Rakhimov Saig Teyyub ogly and Jabbarov Javid Aliisa ogly, and at 10:30 another smuggler Gasimov Nurlan Fitat ogly.

Investigative and operational measures are ongoing.
