Arrested for committing fraud worth 900 thousand manats

A woman has been arrested in Azerbaijan for committing fraud of more than 900 thousand manats against the parents of thalassemia patients. As APA reports, the head of the department for control over the implementation of laws in the field of operational investigative activities of the internal affairs bodies, Natig Abdullayev, said this live on the Instagram social network of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

He noted that in February of this year, the internal affairs bodies received information about fraud against the parents of thalassemia patients. Based on the information received, a criminal case was initiated. It was established that Nurida Seyidova, in collusion with Aysel Mammadova, having abused the trust of the parents of 36 thalassemia patients, under the pretext of treating their children in Turkey, committed fraud in the amount of 980 thousand manats. A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against N. Seyidova. The criminal investigation continues.
