A virus targeting bank accounts has spread in Azerbaijan

Created in early 2023, the Chameleon virus has been greatly improved, even using artificial intelligence in its creation. This virus has the ability to use the fingerprint or facial recognition function to intercept PIN codes and other passwords, oxu.az reports with reference to the Electronic Security Service (ESS). The service said that antivirus programs should be used to identify and remove malicious software (software) on devices. We also recommend using strong passwords, including multi-step authentication as an additional security measure. Users should move sensitive files to external storage devices or cloud storage in advance to protect their security.

It is noted that the Chameleon virus can remain inactive for a long time. He then proceeds to hack the lock and steal funds through the banking application.
