A large consignment of drugs and a Kalashnikov assault rifle were seized from a drug courier

During the operation carried out by officers of the Agdash Regional Police Department, a man was detained who was recruited by a foreign citizen as a drug courier and who, for money, ensured the delivery of drugs and firearms smuggled into the country to various regions of the republic, oxu.az reports with reference to Sheki regional press service group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It is noted that as a result of measures taken on the basis of received operational information, a resident of Goranboy district, Sabir Aliyev, was detained as a suspect. During an inspection of his bag, 6 kg 315 g of marijuana, about 200 g of heroin, a Kalashnikov assault rifle, a magazine and 23 rounds of ammunition were found and seized. During the investigation, it was established that the detainee agreed with an Iranian citizen, whom he met on a social network, to deliver drugs, weapons and ammunition to a specified location in the capital for 2,000 manats.
