Police detained persons attempting to transport large quantities of drugs

In Lerik, citizens were detained for attempting to transport a large batch of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances to Baku. As oxu.az reports with reference to the Lankaran regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational activities carried out by employees of the Lerik District Police Department, a resident of the village of Chunzeli, Jalilabad district, Nurlan Mustafaly and his fellow villager, previously convicted Niyameddin Amadullayev. In the latter’s bag, 3 kg of marijuana, 100 g of heroin and approximately the same amount of methamphetamine were found and seized.

During the investigation, it was established that the narcotic substances were purchased from a drug dealer living abroad, whose identity is being established, for delivery to the territory of the city of Baku. For this, fellow villagers were promised a monetary reward.

By decision of the court, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against the detainees. A criminal case has been opened on this fact in the Lerik District Police Department and an investigation is underway.
