A series of police operations: an armed man and drug couriers were detained

In the Bilasuvar region, law enforcement officers detained an armed man, as well as suspects in drug courier activities, oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Thus, employees of the Bilasuvar district police department carried out a series of operations in the district, during which a resident of the Sabirabad district Elburus Guliyev, a resident of the capital Tehmuraz Kazimov and a native of the Salyan district Huseyn Aliyev, suspected of drug trafficking, were detained.

About 4 kg of methamphetamine and opium were found in their possession. The detainees stated that they acquired drugs smuggled into the country from Iran for the purpose of sale, for which they delivered them to different addresses.

During another operation, police detained Shirvan resident Vusal Mammadov. A Beretta pistol, five rounds of ammunition and heroin, which he had purchased for personal use, were found in his possession.

By a court decision, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against the detainees; the investigation continues.
