Persons accused of attempting to assassinate MP Fazil Mustafa testified in court

The trial continues in the criminal case against Emin Aliyarov, Rashad Akhmedov, Azer Saryjanov, Elshad Asgarov, Sabukha Shirinov, accused of the attempt on the life of Milli Majlis deputy Fazil Mustafa. Report informs, the accused Azer Saryjanov and Rashad Akhmedov testified in the Baku Court of Serious Crimes at a hearing chaired by Judge Elnur Nuriyev. The next trial is scheduled for March 1, 2024.

Thus, on March 28 last year, MP Fazil Mustafa was attacked in front of his house by an armed attack. As a result, F. Mustafa received gunshot wounds. Emin Aliyarov, Rashad Akhmedov, Azer Saryjanov, Elshad Askerov and Sabuhi Shirinov were detained on suspicion of committing a crime.

Based on this fact, the Main Investigation Department of the State Security Service opened a criminal case under Art. 277 (Encroachment on the life of a state or public figure) and Art. 228.2.1 (Illegal acquisition, storage of firearms, their components, ammunition by a group of persons who previously entered into a conspiracy, transportation and carrying).
