A large batch of excise-free cigarettes was seized from illegal trafficking

More than 1.2 million tobacco products without an excise stamp have been seized from illicit trafficking in Azerbaijan, oxu.az reports with reference to the State Customs Committee (SCC). The operation was carried out by employees of the Main Operational Investigation Department, the Main Customs Department of Baku and the Ganja Customs Department.

Thus, based on information received about the illegal import, storage and sale of a large number of tobacco products without an excise stamp, in accordance with the relevant court decision, a search was carried out in the private house of a resident of the Tovuz district. During the search, 1,219,980 different types of tobacco products without excise stamps were found in 122 cardboard boxes. An investigation into this fact is underway.
