Residents of Astara were detained while trying to sell 61 kg of drugs imported from Iran. As APA reports, this was reported to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan. During the next event carried out by the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Astara region, residents of the village of Sym Khatai Khalygov and his relative Afshin Salayev were detained.

61 kg of marijuana enriched with psychotropic substances and 4 bank cards, which they used for drug trafficking, were found and seized from them and in the car driven by Kh. Khalygov. During the investigation, it was established that the detainees organized drug smuggling into the country in conspiracy with an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being established by the investigation, and received marijuana in the village of Sym. They planned to sell these drugs to individuals for financial gain.

A criminal case has been initiated into the fact, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen against the detainees. Operational and investigative activities continue.
