The Ministry of Internal Affairs appeals to the public in connection with cyber thefts

The head of the media and public relations department of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police lieutenant colonel Elshad Hajiyev again called on citizens to be vigilant in connection with the increasing cases of cyber fraud on social networks, Report informs. Citizens are advised not to respond to suspicious calls and messages, and not to attract attention on social networks by demonstrating their capabilities and means, since profiles and publications can be viewed by criminal individuals and groups.

The information emphasizes that users of Instagram, Telegram, Facebook, Tik-Tok and other social networks are deceived by false promises of additional income, insurance payments, tourist trips, furniture orders, gold sales, purchase and sale and rental of housing, loans, and transfer the requested amounts to separate bank accounts.

According to Gadzhiev, dozens of citizens have become victims of fraud on social networks, for example, on May 13 alone, 9,000, 8,485, 370, 425, 1,482, 350, 165, 1,420, 165, 140, 3,000, 150 were fraudulently withdrawn from the bank cards of various citizens. 350, 600, 3.100, 360, 2.700, 50, 25, 700, 2.181 manats, 471 and 1.850 US dollars.
