An unknown person withdrew 7 thousand manats from the bank card of an Azerbaijani citizen

An Azerbaijani citizen has become a victim of cyber fraud, oxu.az reports, citing information from the head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police lieutenant colonel Elshad Hajiyev. According to him, an unknown person who called an Azerbaijani citizen from a Syrian number stole money from his bank card, making a false promise. He was told that $1.7 million needed to be transferred to Azerbaijan, but the amount could not be transferred. He was asked to provide his bank card details in order to send money to her, promising $700,000 in return. The citizen was promised that other people would contact him and he would give them $1 million. He provided this person with all the information, and within five seconds 7,377 manats were withdrawn from his bank card.

The head of the press service once again called on citizens to beware of cyber fraudsters.
