Azerbaijan extends prison term of Garabagh separatists detained in Baku

The petitions of the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the extension of the period of pre-trial detention for former “foreign minister” Davit Babayan, as well as “parliament chairman” David Iskhanyan, generals Lyova Mnatsakanyan, David Manukyan and Arkady Gukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, who were the “presidents” of the so-called separatist regime in Garabagh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan and other sovereign regions, and the submissions of the prosecutor who conducted the procedural management of the preliminary investigation were viewed, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office, APA reports.

It was noted that a total of 15 members of the separatist regime were held responsible under various articles of the Criminal Code in the criminal case conducted by a joint investigation team led by the Prosecutor General’s Office, consisting of professional employees of the Military Prosecutor’s Office, the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other investigative agencies.

According to the court decision, the period pre-trial detention of the mentioned persons was extended by 5 months.
