A drug courier with a large consignment of drugs detained

A drug courier with a large consignment of drugs was detained in Bilasuvar, Report informs citing the Lankaran regional press service group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Police officers, as part of operational measures to combat drug trafficking, detained suspect Bakhman Akhmedov. During the search, more than 7 kg of heroin, opium, hashish and marijuana, as well as 118 methadone tablets, were seized from the detainee.

Law enforcement officers established that Akhmedov purchased drugs from a certain Iranian citizen for the purpose of further sale in Azerbaijan.

The investigation is ongoing.
