The sentence of the former head of the Imishli district executive power reduced to 8.5 years

The cassation appeal of the convicted former head of the executive power of the Imishli region, William Hajiyev, has been considered, Report informs. At a trial chaired by Judge Shahin Yusifov in the Supreme Court, Gadzhiev’s sentence was reduced to 8 years and 6 months. Previously. he filed a cassation appeal and later withdrew it due to additions.

William Hajiyev was arrested by the State Security Service. According to the verdict of the Baku Court of Serious Crimes, he was found guilty of theft on an especially large scale and receiving a bribe and sentenced to 12 years in prison. The Baku Court of Appeal upheld the verdict without changes.
