Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Border Service of Azerbaijan seized 180 kg of drugs from circulation

As a result of a joint special operation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan, 180 kg of narcotic substances were not allowed into circulation, Report informs, citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to information, during an event held by the police and border guards in the Beylagan region, Adil Takhmazov, who was previously convicted several times, was detained. 180 kilograms of marijuana enriched with psychotropic substances were found on him and in his car.

During the preliminary interrogation, A. Takhmazov said that the drugs found on him, which were hidden in a cache near the border zone of the Beylagan region by an Iranian citizen named “Hasan” (identity to be established), were to be delivered to different addresses in Baku by the detainee in exchange for a monetary reward.

In connection with the fact, a criminal case was initiated under the relevant article of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, and the detainee was taken into custody by a court decision.
