Over the past 20 years, about 25 thousand criminal groups have been neutralized in Azerbaijan

During the period 2003-2023 Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies have neutralized about 25 thousand criminal groups and gangs, Report informs citing the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov, who spoke at the ceremony dedicated to “Police Day”.

According to him, during the reporting period, police officers seized more than 35 thousand units of illegally stored firearms from citizens, due to which the number of illegal actions was significantly reduced.

“On average, 87% of crimes were solved, more than 77 thousand people who were wanted on various charges were detained. Also, about 25 tons of narcotic drugs were seized from illegal trafficking,” the report says.
