Attempt to smuggle drugs from Iran prevented

An attempt to smuggle drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan was prevented, Report informs citing the press service of the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan.

According to the information, on July 3, 2024 at 23:27, on the official territory of the Goytepe border detachment of the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan, two people attempted to violate the state border from Iran in the direction of Azerbaijan.

The violators, who ignored the demands of the border guards to stop, were detained after the State Border Service officers opened warning fire.

“During the investigation, it was established that the detainees, Anar Rafail oglu Taryverdiev and Mehman oglu Dzharchyev Server, are residents of the Gazakh region. During the search, 15 kg of marijuana and 25 grams of opium were found on them,” the report says.
