In Azerbaijan, 333 people were killed and 598 injured in road accidents in the first half of the year

In Azerbaijan, in the first half of 2024, the number of road accidents has decreased significantly compared to last year. Report was stated by the chief inspector of the public relations department of the Main Directorate of State Traffic Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police lieutenant colonel Mubariz Agayev.

He said that in the first half of the year the number of registered road accidents decreased by 99 cases or 12.7% compared to the same period last year, to 681. During this period, 333 people died in road accidents and 598 people were injured, which is 54 and 71 case is less in annual terms. Among the main causes of road accidents, the police representative named the facts of driving at high speed, driving into oncoming traffic and violating the rules of overtaking.
