A new type of fraud has appeared in Azerbaijan

The State Tax Service of Azerbaijan has warned citizens about the increasing cases of fraud using the name of the VAT refund project (“ƏDV Geri Al”), minval.az reports. It is noted that cyber fraudsters create fake websites and pages similar to the Internet resources of the State Tax Service, while on these pages citizens are promised a VAT refund.

Fraudsters are trying to obtain bank card details of gullible citizens who follow fake links in order to appropriate their funds.

The Tax Service urged not to enter personal and bank details on suspicious portals and, in order to avoid financial losses, to check the accuracy of email addresses and use only official electronic resources.
