New “prisoners of conscience” in Azerbaijan

Amnesty International recognized the four arrested youth activists of the civil movement NIDA prisoners of conscience and demanded their immediate release.

This appeal was made to the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov.

In appeal of Amnesty International is said that the relatives of the activists assert that the drugs and incendiary devices were planted by plainclothes police officers during the search.

In connection with this, Amnesty International consider all of four youth activists the prisoners of conscience arrested for “extremely peaceful realization of their right to freedom of expressions and assemblies”.
