Detained for state boarder trespassing

On June 2014, 47 trespassers were detained in 38 cases, Azerbaijan’s State Border Service told APA.

24 detainees were citizens of Azerbaijan, 11 – Uzbekistan, 3 – Russia, 2 – Iran and one citizen from each country such as Georgia, Nigeria, Moldova, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Germany.

 10 persons were detained over 5 cases of violating border regime and 41 persons were detained in 28 cases by the Caspian Sea. 223 persons, who were wanted the law-enforcement bodies, were detained while attempting to trespass the state border, and handed over to corresponding bodies.

During the month, the smuggling of narcotic plants with total weight of 9 tonnes 267.6 kilograms in the 4,6 ha area in Astara, Lerik, Yardimli and Zagatala, including goods in the amount of AZN 163000, 4 guns, 2 rifles of 16-mm, 114 cartridges of different sizes, one armored jacket, 15 electroshocks, 1 brass knuckle, 35 gold and silver watches, 34500 Euros, 636 bottles of vodka, 1780 packets of cigarette, 131900 medicines, 1 horse and 145 pyrotechnical means, food and industrial products were prevented in 40 cases.
