Based on the results of official investigations into officials who violated the requirements of the law, strict disciplinary sanctions and other measures were taken against 78 employees last year and against 181 employees in the first 9 months of 2024, APA reports citing the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription for Military Service.

In 2023, materials collected against 22 people on 15 facts and 70 people on 36 facts for the corresponding period of the current year were sent to the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan for a decision.

As a result of joint activities of the National Central Bureau of Interpol and the Naftalan Police Department in the Russian Federation, a resident of the city, Arif Veliyev, who was wanted on charges of committing a crime under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was detained and extradited to Azerbaijan.

It is noted that in September 2023, as a result of operational and search activities carried out by the Naftalan City Police Department, persons suspected of illegally entering an apartment belonging to a city resident and committing a theft from it were detained. During the investigation it was established that Elvin Akhmedli, Hikmet Mamishov and Arif Veliev conspired to steal 80,000 manat from the apartment of a close relative of E. Akhmedli.

Drug trafficking suspects have been detained in Baku, Report informs citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Thus, the Nasimi District Police Department detained previously convicted individuals Umid Hajiyev and Niyameddin Rasulov.

They were found to have more than 7 kg of heroin, opium, marijuana and methamphetamine. The detainees purchased the drugs for sale from Iranian citizens, whose identities are being established.

At the same time, as a result of various operations in the Nasimi District, a total of 12 kg of narcotics were seized in 29 cases.

Criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.

During the operation conducted by the Sheki district police department, 40-year-old Ramal Eyyubov, who was engaged in illegal drug trafficking, was detained, oxu.az reports with reference to the regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

He was found to have 1,270 grams of heroin and 2,300 grams of marijuana. During the investigation, it was established that R. Eyyubov was involved in drug trafficking for material reward by a person whose identity is being established by the investigation. He was supposed to deliver drugs to the Gazakh district.

By the decision of the court, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen for R. Eyyubov, the investigation is ongoing.
