Fraud accused extradited to Tajikistan

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan granted the request of the supervisory authority of Tajikistan to extradite a citizen of this country, Bobojon Jalilov (born in 1962), for criminal prosecution, oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan. A foreign citizen accused of committing fraudulent acts in Tajikistan was put on the international wanted list. In May 2024, he was found and detained in Azerbaijan. A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen for him.

Based on the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases of October 7, 2002, a decision was made to extradite the accused. Jalilov was handed over to the competent authorities of Tajikistan, accompanied by a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan

The trial of Nazaket Mammadova has ended in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, oxu.az reports. She was sentenced to 13 years in prison on charges of treason.

According to the verdict, 46-year-old Nazaket Mammadova was found guilty of collaborating with Russian special services. The indictment states that she carried out secret activities under the guise of a “political scientist” and “journalist.” N. Mammadova ran the YouTube channel Alfa TV, which openly published pro-Russian materials. The indictment lists the creation of this channel, organizing interviews, and distributing other materials as part of her activities.

Suspect in 61,000 manat theft detained

A suspect in the theft of jewelry and household items worth about 61,000 manat from three apartments has been detained in Ganja, the western bureau of Report informs. Thus, officers of the second police department of the Ganja Main Police Department detained previously convicted Gulshad Agasiyev, who stole jewelry and household items worth 20,000 manat from one apartment.

During the investigation, it was also established that G. Agasiyev stole gold jewelry and household items worth 41,500 manat from two more apartments.

An investigation is underway into the facts.
