The Border Troops Command of the State Border Service (SBS) has seized drugs worth 162,610,694 manats from illegal circulation since the beginning of its activities in 2017 to date, oxu.az reports. This was stated by Deputy Chief of the SBS, Commander of the Border Troops, Lieutenant General Araz Mammadov during a briefing at the Shamkir border detachment.

He noted that since the beginning of the activities of the Border Troops Command of the SBS, 1,636 border violators and 1,021 violators of the regime have been detained and handed over to the relevant government agencies. As part of the fight against illegal drug trafficking, 6,928 kg of narcotic drugs and 533,406 psychotropic tablets were discovered and seized from illegal circulation, with a total approximate value of 162,610,694 manats.
