The trial of director of the Jabrayil Central District Hospital Anar Zamanov and neurologist of the Beylagan Central District Hospital Kifayat Hajiyeva, accused of accepting bribes, has ended, oxu.az reports. They were found guilty under Articles 311.3.1 and 311.3.2 (repeated acceptance of a bribe by a group of persons by prior agreement or by an organized group) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
The Lankaran Court of Grave Crimes sentenced both to eight years in prison, but the punishment was considered suspended with a probationary period of one year and six months for A. Zamanov and one year for K. Hajiyeva. Thus, they remained free.
It should be noted that the defendants were brought to justice on four counts of accepting bribes.
