Employees of the Binagadi District Police Department have identified and detained Mirnijat Amirov (born in 1995), a suspect in a series of fraudulent activities against citizens, oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.
It was established that Amirov posted fake advertisements for employment in kindergartens on social networks. After contacting him, citizens transferred various amounts of money to his bank card, allegedly to register an application. Having received the funds, the suspect cashed them and blocked the victims’ contacts.
Numerous bank cards, mobile numbers indicated in advertisements on websites, and other electronic evidence were found and seized from the suspect.
An investigation is ongoing into this fact.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs once again calls on citizens to be vigilant regarding information posted on advertisement websites and not to make online payments.
