A large-scale fraud against citizens was committed in the Narimanov district of the capital, Oxu.Az reports, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

According to the information, the police received information about the fraudulent appropriation of a total of 38,600 manats from four people.

As a result of operational activities carried out by employees of the 18th police department of the Narimanov district police department, 48-year-old I. Mirzoyev was detained on suspicion of committing the crime.

An investigation is underway into this fact.

Employees of the Sumgait City Police Department conducted an operation to suppress illegal drug trafficking, Oxu.Az reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the operation, previously convicted 38-year-old Kamil Mammadov, suspected of the said act, was detained. A total of 20 kg of narcotics were found on him, including 12 kg of marijuana, 8 kg of opium and methamphetamine, as well as 200 methadone tablets. K. Mammadov purchased the drugs from an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being established by the investigation, and planned to organize their sale.

A criminal case has been opened on this fact, the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of arrest for the detainee, the investigation is ongoing.
