A theft was committed from subsidiary farms belonging to three persons in the Absheron region. The victims suffered material damage in the amount of 30,200 manats, Oxu.Az reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

As a result of the activities carried out by the employees of the Absheron District Police Department, suspects in committing a series of thefts, previously convicted 34-year-old S. Garayev and 31-year-old R. Sailov, were detained.

An investigation is underway into this fact.

A citizen of Kazakhstan, Shahin Mammadov, who was on the international wanted list on charges of large-scale fraud, has been extradited from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan. As Report informs, his extradition took place within the framework of cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Offices of the two countries and in accordance with the Convention “On Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases” of October 7, 2002.

Mammadov was wanted in a case initiated by the Main Department for Combating Cybercrime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan. He is charged with a crime under Article 178.3.2 (fraud on an especially large scale) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Mammadov, who was detained in Kazakhstan, was handed over to the Azerbaijani side and brought to the country under the escort of employees of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.

During an operation conducted by the Nizami District Police Department, 45-year-old resident of the capital Sadir Aliyev was detained for organizing illegal drug trafficking, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

It was noted that about 3 kg of heroin, opium, marijuana and 359 tablets of the psychotropic substance methadone were found on the man. S. Aliyev was one of the main members of the drug network that organized the sale of drugs in the capital.

In order to avoid exposure, he regularly changed his place of residence and contact numbers.

A criminal case has been opened on this fact, an investigation is underway.
