The court investigation of the criminal case of the editor-in-chief of the Ideal newspaper Nazim Guliyev has been completed, Oxu.Az reports. At the trial chaired by the judge of the Baku Grave Crimes Court Javid Huseynov, the prosecutor made an indictment speech and proposed the court to sentence Nazim Guliyev to 9 years and 6 months in prison.

Nazim Guliyev was detained by the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and brought to criminal responsibility. He was charged under Article 178.2.4 (fraud causing significant damage) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. Later, he was also charged under Article 182.2.4 (extortion for the purpose of seizing property in a significant amount) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The court sentenced Nazim Guliyev to 8 years in prison.

The trial of Islam Khadyev, accused of the brutal murder of the famous actor Iosif Tkach and his wife Lyudmila Tkach, has been completed in Baku, Oxu.Az reports. At the trial chaired by the judge of the Baku Court of Grave Crimes Azer Taghiyev, the prosecutor proposed to sentence the accused Islam Khadyev to life imprisonment.
After the deliberation, the verdict was announced, according to which Khadyev was sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Main Directorate for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan prevented the illegal trafficking of 19 kg of drugs in Masalli, Report informs citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Thus, during the operation in Masalli district, 54-year-old Ilham Salimzade was detained, on whom 19 kg of marijuana, opium, methamphetamine and 800 methadone tablets were found.

The detainee admitted that he took the drugs from a hiding place in Masalli district on the instructions of an Iranian citizen (whose identity is being established) for the purpose of delivery to different addresses.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact, an investigation is underway.

Cyber ​​scammers stole 39,504 manats and 595 dollars from Azerbaijani citizens’ bank cards in the past 24 hours. As Report informs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced this.

According to the agency, on April 9, amounts ranging from 83 to 12,850 manats were stolen from citizens’ cards.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs called on citizens to be vigilant, not to disclose their bank card details to strangers, and to ignore suspicious calls related to promises of quick profits, insurance payments, or account information updates.

A verdict has been handed down to women accused of human trafficking in Azerbaijan, Oxu.Az reports. The Main Department for Combating Human Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained N. Sattarova and A. Kalimulina, suspected of sexual exploitation of women who are citizens of Azerbaijan.

According to the court verdict, they were found guilty under Articles 144-1.2.1, 144-1.2.2, 144-1.2.3, 144-1.2.4-1, 144-1.2.5 (human trafficking) and 144-3.4 (seizure, storage, concealment, damage or destruction of an identity card, passport or other identity document, or travel documents (for crossing the border) of any person for the purpose of human trafficking) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

N. Sattarova was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 8 years and 1 month, and A. Kalimulina was sentenced to 8 years and 3 months.
