
The trial of the criminal case against the person accused of fraud against 26 people by posing as the deputy head of the urban development and project planning department of the State Housing Development Agency (MİDA) has ended.
As reported by Oxu.Az, the trial of Mirdamed Azizov’s criminal case was held in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes under the chairmanship of Judge Rasim Sadikhov.
From January 2022 to February 2024, Mirdamed Azizov, in order to seize someone else’s property, presented himself as a competent and official person to those who contacted him in connection with the creation of a preferential electronic account for the purchase of apartments in the Yeni Yasamal residential complex, built by MİDA on the territory of the residential complex of the same name in the Yasamal district of Baku, as well as providing assistance in purchasing apartments at a favorable price below the market value.
In the criminal case, 26 people were recognized as victims. MİDA is also one of the victims.
Mirdamed Azizov was brought to the investigation as an accused under Articles 178.3.2 (fraud causing major damage) and 310 (appropriation of official powers) of the Criminal Code, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against him.
During the trial, Mirdamed did not pay the victims 431,600 manat and did not reach reconciliation with them.
According to the verdict, Mirdamed Azizov was deprived of liberty for 8 years.
