Detained foreigners while attempting to sell fake dollars

Azerbaijani Interior Ministry’s Main Organized Crime Department have detained Cameroon-born Belgian citizens Maput Martial and Hongla Samuel while attempting to sell10,000 fake USD in exchange for 5,000 USD, APA reports.

Furthermore, 10,000 fake USD, one color printer and a variety of chemical substances were found and seized from their house in Khirdalan, which they had rented.

Investigative actions made it clear that they were planning to produce fake US dollars and put them into circulations for the purpose of making a great deal of money, thinking of an expected flow of tourists into Azerbaijan on the eve of the Baku-2015 first European Games and the fact that foreign currency would then be widely used.

The Main Organized Crime Department has opened a criminal case over the fact.
