Khadija Ismailova was sentenced to 7.5 years imprisonment

Baku Court of Grave Crimes sentenced journalist Khadija Ismayilova to 7.5 years in prison, haqqin.az.

The court found her guilty under charges according to Articles 179 (misappropriation and embezzlement), 192 (illegal business), 213 (tax evasion) and 308 (abuse of power). At the same time, Ismayilova was acquitted under Article 125 (inciting to suicide).

Khadija Ismayilova was first charged under article 125 (incitement to suicide), and later charged under articles 179.3.2 (embezzlement on a large scale), 192.2.2 (illegal entrepreneurship), 213.1 (tax evasion) and 308.2 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
