Azerbaijani IS member detained in attempt to illegally cross border with Georgia

On 15 October 2015 Azerbaijani border guards detained a member of “Islamic State” terrorist organization while attempting to illegally cross the country’s border with Georgia, the State Border Service told APA.

According to the information, Beylegan district resident Shirinov Babek (1990), who previously fought within IS terrorist organization in Syria, was detained in the Uzungazmalar frontier post in Azerbaijan’s Zagatala district while attempting to illegally cross the country’s border with Georgia and flee to Syria through Turkey.
