A.Yunus changed pre-trial restriction

On October 30, 2015 human rights activist Arif Yunus’ health deteriorated, and he was transferred to the Medical Institution of the Penitentiary Service of the Justice Ministry. However, his condition has not improved.

Today, the Baku Court of Appeal decided to change the preventive measure against prisoner Yunus. Arif Yunus has been released directly from the courtroom and another measure of restraint has been selected by the court: house arrest, haqqin.az reports.

Recall that the Baku Court of Grave Crimes sentenced Leyla Yunus to 8.5 years in prison, and her husband to 7 years with confiscation of property. Arif Yunus was found guilty under article 178.3.2 (fraud with the infliction of considerable damage) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
