Declared in international arrest warrant
Azerbaijan’s law enforcement authorities have declared in international arrest warrant for a man who stabbed a police chief.
Khayal Gahramanov, 30, is charged with hooliganism (Article 221.3).
Khayal is a member of a group who stabbed police chief Anar Shikhaliyev of the 5th police department of the Binagadi district police office, APA has learned.
The group assaulted on the Mercedes Galenvagen driven by police shief Anar Shikhaliyev in 2015. After damaging the car with baseball bats, they inflicted a knife wound on the police chief and got away.
As a result of the operations conducted, the perpetuators—Anar Aliyev, Jeyhun Niftaliyev, Nurlan Hasanov, and Alakbar Gahramanov were arrested. Their criminal case is in consideration at the Baku Court on Grave Crimes. At a hearing held a couple of days ago, a public prosecutor called for 11 years in prison for Alakbar, 8 years for Jeyhun, and 7 years and 6 months for Anar and Nurlan each.
