Seized big amount of drug substances

During operational searching measures conducted at Albalan settlement of Jalilabad District with the employees of the South Regional Branch of the Main Department for combat to drugs of the MIA there has been detained S. Jafarov, who was prior convicted, APA reports with reference to press-service of the MIA.

In course of inspection of travel bag 30 kg drug substances were detected and seized. At preliminary interrogation of S. Jafarov, he told that drugs were bought from some “Zulfi”, Iranian citizen, to who was familiar at correctional prison no. 13.

In addition, in course of operational searching measures conducted at Jurali settlement of Bilasuvar District by employees of Main Department was detained previously convicted Sh. Mirzadaeh, a residence of Lankoran District. At time of inspection his hand luggage 18 kg drugs were detected. It was known that he bought them from some “Dadash”, a citizen of Iran, to who was familiar in Iranian Ardebil town. The citizen of Iran promised to reward in $2000, if he delivers the drugs in Azerbaijan. Sh. Mirzazadeh agreed to and was detained by police officers in border crossing.

In appropriate articles of Criminal Code there were instituted criminal cases on the both facts.
