Natiq Jafarli’s appeal rejected

On 17 August 2016 the Baku Court of Appeal considered the appeal filed against the verdict on imprisoned REAL executive secretary Natig Jafarli.

Attorney Javad Javadli told APA that the court denied the appeal on changing the verdict on his pretrial detention.

On 12 August, 2016 Jafarli was called to the Investigation Department for Grave Crimes of the Prosecutor General’s Office. Then he was taken to Nasimi district court that sentenced him to four months’ pretrial detention.

He is charged with illegal business (Article 192) and abusing official powers (Article 308).
