Several more stores raided

On November 3, 2016 the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Ministry of Internal Affairs and law-enforcement authorities jointly conducted raids in nine religious stores in the Sabunchu, Nizami, Khatai, Nasimi and Surakhani districts of Baku, APA reports.  

The purpose of the raids was to determine whether the stores engaged in selling religious books and goods are functioning in accordance with the law.

The raids revealed that eight of the stores are engaged in specialized selling. Moreover, law-enforcement authorities seized 421 banned and unmarked religious books, 13 DVD and 5 CD discs.

An investigation is underway into the violations.
