Illegal firearm seized from Barda resident’s house

Police have detained a resident of Azerbaijan’s Barda district on charges of illegal possession and storage of a firearm and ammunition, the Interior Ministry’s press service told APA on 17 April 2017.

During the search of Barda resident Babek Narimanov’s house, an AK-47 assault rifle, 17 grenades, 790 cartridges of various caliber, 6 fuses and 5 cartridge clips were found and seized.

The detainee in his testimony said that he found the firearm and ammunition several years ago and hid them in his house.

A criminal case has been initiated against the Barda resident, the necessary investigative and operational-search measures are underway.
