Baku police issue arrest warrants for ex-diplomat and ex-spokesman

The Baku City Main Police Department has issued arrest warrants for former diplomat Arif Mammadov and the former spokesman for the liquidated State Students Admission Commission (SSAC) Elnur Naghizade.

According to the notice posted on the police department’s website, 53-year-old Arif Mammadov is charged with large-scale embezzlement (Article 179.3.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan) while 36-year-old Elnur Nagizade is charged with fraud with causing major damage (Article 178.3.2).
