A criminal case has been instituted against doctors accused of falsifying the degree of disability
A criminal case has been initiated in Baku against doctors accused of falsifying the degree of disability of individuals, the report.az information internet portal reports.
During 2021, the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General completed a preliminary investigation of criminal cases initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the facts of falsifying diagnoses established by members of medical advisory commissions of various medical institutions in order to assign the appropriate degree of disability to individuals.
In the course of the investigation, reasonable suspicions were identified that members of the Medical Advisory Commission of the City Polyclinic No. 15 TABİB of the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance Mehpara Mammadova and Kanul Sultanova, having abused their official powers, in order to assign a degree of disability to persons who applied to the commission, deliberately aggravated and in a distorted form entered information about the diseases of these persons into the official electronic information resource, which caused significant harm to the legally protected interests of the state.
Both doctors were charged under articles 308.1 (abuse of power) and 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code. Criminal cases are sent to court.
