Fraud accused extradited

On the basis of a petition from the Department of International Legal Cooperation of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan, the supervisory agency of Russia, in accordance with the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters, dated January 22, 1993, decided to extradite Azerbaijani citizen Sadi Hasan oglu Najimetdinov, reports oxu .az

In connection with the emergence of reasonable suspicions that S. Najimetdinov committed fraud, which resulted in the taking of other people’s property and causing material damage, the investigative department of the Prosecutor General’s Office decided to bring him as an accused under Article 178.3.2 (fraud committed with causing damage on a large scale) Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Since S. Najimetdinov was hiding from law enforcement agencies, he was put on the international wanted list.

He was detained in Russia. In March 2021, a measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen against him.

On December 22, 2021, accompanied by a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice, S. Najimetdinov was delivered from Russia to Azerbaijan.
