Former employees of the Ministry of Economy convicted

The trial on the criminal case of officials of the Absheron Territorial Department of the State Service for Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy Anar Poladov, Sabuhi Rzayev and Afig Babayev, who were arrested while receiving bribes, has completed in the Baku Court for Grave Crimes, haqqin.az reports.

The judgement was read at the trial. According to the verdict, Anar Poladov and Sabuhi Rzayev were sentenced to 8 years and 6 months, and Afig Babayev to 8 years in prison. The preventive measure against Babaev was changed and he was arrested in the courtroom.

As a result of an operational event carried out on September 2 last year, these citizens were detained while receiving a bribe in the amount of 900 manats from a citizen.

The fact of receiving a bribe by officials was recorded by CCTV cameras.

A. Poladov and S. Rzayev were charged as defendants under Article 311.3.1 of the Criminal Code (taking a bribe by a group of persons by prior agreement). Earlier, a measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen against them by a court decision.
