Large amount of heroin seized

Employees of the Southern Territorial Main Customs Department prevented an attempt to smuggle over 200 kg of heroin into the territory of Azerbaijan, oxu.az reports.

A Scania truck carrying liquid soap and baby diapers from Iran to our country was stopped at the Bilasuvar customs checkpoint.

During a customs inspection, X-rays showed suspicious lines of two fuel tanks installed on the left and right sides of the truck.

A closer examination of the truck revealed that the inside of both tanks had been divided into three parts by a metal plate, and a total of 205 rectangular bags containing 218 kg 334 g of compressed heroin were found in the compartments.

According to the Internet portal, the cost of this volume of the drug on the “black market” in Europe is 26 million manats.
