A criminal case was initiated on the fact of the Armenian terrorist attack near Shusha
The Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan have issued a joint statement on the armed attack by an Armenian terrorist on Azerbaijani servicemen in Shusha, oxu.az information portal reports.
The statement says that “On November 13 at 07:12 am, an Armenian citizen Norayr Mirzoyan (born 1975) made an attempt to commit a terrorist act and murder on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the basis of ethnic hatred. Moving along the Khankendi-Lachin highway in a Mercedes Benz car (license plate 48-MN-048 ERR) from the Azerbaijani city of Khankendi in the direction of the city of Lachyn, along with other members of the criminal group, armed with RGD-5 hand grenades and other firearms and explosives, threw a hand grenade near the village of Dashalty, Shusha region. Thus, the terrorist endangered the lives of servicemen of the Nth military unit of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and the peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation serving near the settlement. As a result, a serviceman of extra-active military service, sergeant Hafiz Nasibov and two other people received injuries of varying severity.
On this fact, the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan initiated a criminal case under Articles 29, 120.2.1 (attempted murder by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or by a criminal association/organization), 29, 120.2.3 (attempted murder of the victim or his relatives in connection with the implementation of these by a person in official activity or in the performance of a public duty), 29, 120.2.4 (attempted murder committed with particular cruelty), 214.2.3 (terrorism committed with the use of firearms and objects used as weapons), 228.3 (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation and carrying of firearms, explosives committed by an organized group) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The matter is under investigation”.
