The prosecutor requested for 20 years in prison for the accused in the murder of a colonel

At the trial, chaired by Judge Eldar Ismayilov of the Baku Grave Crimes Court, the prosecutor petitioned to sentence Elmar Huseynov, accused of committing murder with extreme cruelty, to 20 years in prison, oxu.az reports.

The process will continue on February 15, 2022.

The incident occurred in September 2020 in the Narimanov district of the capital at the address: Ibragimpashi Dadashev street, house 57A.

E. Huseynov was charged under article 120.2.4 (murder with special cruelty or in a generally dangerous way) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The killed T. Tagiyev was a relative of the former prosecutor of the Khatai region, Yusif Ildirimzade. He worked for a long time in the internal affairs bodies. He held various positions in the Narimanov and Binagadi district police departments, including being the head of two metropolitan police departments.

Police Colonel T. Tagiyev was retired a few years ago due to reaching the age limit for service in the internal affairs bodies.
