Witnesses questioned at court session on case of former head of Jalilabad Executive Power

The court session on the criminal case of the former head of the Executive Power of the Jalilabad region Namik Zeynalov, who is under arrest, continued in the administrative building of the Sabunchu district court, witnesses were interrogated, the information Internet portal oxu.az reports.
At the trial, chaired by the judge of the Lankaran Court for Grave Crimes Hammed Nuriyev, 25 people testified as witnesses. They answered questions from the judge, the public prosecutor and lawyers. The next court session is scheduled for February 18, 2022.
N. Zeynalov was detained in December 2020 during a special operation carried out by the State Security Service in the Jalilabad region.
He was charged under articles 179.2.2 (misappropriation or embezzlement committed repeatedly), 179.2.3 (committed by a person using his official position), 179.2.4 (committed with causing significant damage), 308.2 (abuse of official authority), 311.3. 3 (receiving a bribe on a large scale), 311.3.2 (repeatedly taking a bribe), 313 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. N. Zeynalov is accused of embezzling more than 5 million manats and taking a bribe.
