Suspect detained for home burglaries

Police officers detained a suspect in a series of thefts in the Binagadi district of Baku, oxu.az reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Earlier, the owner of one of the houses in the suburban area Goradil applied to the 43rd police station and reported that repair and construction tools and electrical wires had been stolen from him. A similar statement was made by several other local residents.

During the investigation, it turned out that all the thefts were committed by the same person. As a result of operational-search activities, a resident of the Zardab region, previously convicted Asif Agayev, was detained.

It was also found that the attacker stole household items, tools, water pumps, etc. from 18 private houses in other districts of the capital. During interrogation, he confessed to his crime.

The materials collected on these facts were sent to the investigative department of the Binagadi District Police Department, operational and investigative measures are ongoing.
