Person arrested in Ukraine extradited in Azerbaijan

An Azerbaijani businessman arrested in Ukraine has been extradited, reports the Internet portal report.az with reference to the press service of the country’s Prosecutor General’s Office.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine granted the request for the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Karimov Nizami Ghulam oglu.

With regard to N. Kerimov, a suspect under Article 178.3.2 (fraud causing major damage) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2017, a measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen and he was put on the wanted list. N. Kerimov was detained in Ukraine on January 13, 2022, and on February 17 he was extradited to Azerbaijan.
