Large amount of drugs seized

On February 21, 2022, at 01:05, a Mitsubishi Pajero car was seen in the area of ​​the border outpost near the village of Keledakhna, Astara region, in which there were two people, oxu.az reports with reference to the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan.

The suspicion of the border guards was caused by the fact that one of them got out of the car and took away a bag hidden in the thickets. He was arrested at the moment when he tried to escape.

The identities of the offenders were identified – they turned out to be residents of the Astara district: Gurban Agayev, previously convicted for drug use, and Gulshan Agaeva (born 1978).

During the detention, G. Agayev opened fire from a Blow TR14 traumatic pistol, injuring two border guards.

The confiscated bag (with a total weight of 16 kg 965 g) contained 4 kg 85 g of marijuana, 9 kg 920 g of opium, 2 kg 90 g of methamphetamine and 870 g of heroin. In addition, during the inspection, 1 kg 100 g of marijuana was found in the house of G. Agayev.

On this fact, operational and investigative measures are ongoing.
